Bison Lettuce Wraps

Bison Lettuce Wraps

These were super yummy and a fun finger food!  You could put them in tortillas or pita pockets too, but it is healthier, more colorful, and different to use lettuce wraps!  These are also gluten-free if anyone is interested!

Bison Lettuce Wraps

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb bison
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 1/2 tbl olive oil
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • 1 green chili
  • 3/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala seasoning
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 head lettuce (butter or iceberg)

 

Directions:

Place oil, garlic, and onion into a medium sized pot and cook over medium heat until slightly brown.  Add in the bison and cook until the bison meat turns light brown.  Add in the rest of the ingredients, turn the heat to low, and allow to simmer for 20-25 minutes.   Serve with lettuce wraps and avocado chunks on top!  Enjoy 🙂
