Cinnamon Apple Pork Chops
This was a nice sweet and refreshing summer dish! We used onions straight from our garden which always makes for the best tasting dishes!
-4 Pork Chops
-2 red apples (I used Honeycrisp) (thinly sliced)
-1/3 white onion (thinly sliced)
-2 T brown sugar
-2 t ground cinnamon
-1 pinch cayenne pepper
-1/3 cup skim milk
-1 T butter (or oil)
Put the butter (or oil) into a pan at medium heat and once it is hot, add the pork chops. Cook about 3 minutes on each side (or until they turn white). Transfer to a plate and set aside.
In the same pan, add the apples and onion and cook about 3 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne. Stir in the milk and then add the pork chops back in. You may want to move stuff around so some of the apples and onions rest on top of the chops so that the flavor soaks all the way through on both sides. Cook until there is no more pink inside the chops.
